As a starting point Dreamworld has the intention to bring the real world and virtual life closer together. With this statement we are not referring to the creation of "mirror objects" (such as copies of buildings from real life) but by applying certain aspects from the real world towards the virtual world. We wish to bring in certain practical models, trends and behavior from real life into the virtual world.

By doing this we are convinced it will be possible to take virtual worlds as we have seen them in the past a step further to the next level, making it more robust and mainstream even. At the moment we see a new trend where virtual worlds start to look more and more realistic. The cartoon aspect that many worlds have starts to fade and gets replaced by realistically looking scenery. This indicates that the virtual life is becoming more common to many and supplies value to real life for people.

The looks of a 3D model are very superficial and only give an impression. That is why Dreamworld as a platform provider wishes to offer solutions by making changes to the way people experience a virtual world as a whole. Not just by being inside of the world but also what it means as a medium and how it suits their particular needs. By the implementation of new standards, ways of working and practical solutions we intend to make Dreamworld something widely accepted and consumer friendly in many ways.

People make the world to what it is, even in the Virtual World

When people arrived on planet earth thousands of years ago there was fauna and flora. Today there still is but people have changed planet earth in a drastic way with all kinds of activity going on. This is perfectly understandable as avatars are nothing more than artificial forms of life controlled by humans to have a presence inside the virtual world, as it isn't possible to have a physical presence in Dreamworld. We are very well aware that by it's behavior every avatar participates and contributes on a small or large scale to the evolution of the virtual world.

Because of this we also think that it is not up to Dreamworld to provide a prefab solution or walled garden. We are very well aware that each avatar has different expectations and different reasons to be in Dreamworld and this is something we have to respect and not interfere with.

Therefore it is best to look at Dreamworld as a platform and not so much as a "game" or providers of a MMORPG as we see our task as a provider or simulation environments; technology and tools instead of a standard out of the box video game.

A healthy economic model is an essential need

We think that until now the economic value within virtual worlds has been strongly overlooked. In some cases it has been exploited and abused by the providers of the platform as a form of false advertising to allure people using their platform. Many people spend time and resources in virtual worlds these days, they generate value, either through their skills or by providing services or activities for other residents.

The result of this is that just like in the real world an economy starts to exist. There are people who work full time in a virtual world for a living, while this might sound strange to some many avatars are in fact real life companies. There is a saying: "Better one bird in the hand than ten in the woods" which means it is better to have one quality object or 3D model which can be enjoyed for it's beauty compared to having ten objects which do nothing more than contribute to the pollution of the virtual landscape. Dreamworld has always been about quality since the day it started to exist. We always placed a high valuation on beauty inside the virtual world and this is something that will be maintained.

Quality content is on our list of high priorities. Everybody wants to look good in their avatar, everybody wants a nice enviroment to live in and explore. Being able to enjoy gorgeous enviroments and builds is one of the basics of a virtual enviroment. In order to achieve this level of quality there is need for technology to reach the point where you can upload a fantastic looking 3D model, scale it and place it on your land. Many people share our opinions on this matter and the development of the technology that will enable this is in the works.

While Dreamworld is not a provider of virtual goods we do wish to set the tone and showcase what is possible on the platform. By doing so we hope to inspire people and set a standard for the world in general.

Each avatar visits Dreamworld for a certain reason which can vary from business; education; entertainment; social interaction and collaboration purposes. People log in to the Dreamworld grid for a certain reason. Some people want to settle down in the world, build an office; museum; home; education center; studio; castle; club.

Each person has unique needs when it comes down to acquiring their virtual terrain so they can establish a new form of presence and interaction with the virtual world. The slogan of Dreamworld has always been "Excellent land for a modest price" which we always delivered and take proud in.
