3D Virtual World

Dreamworld the 3D Virtual World
The Virtual World also known as Dreamworld is a three dimensional space or environment accessible by avatars which are controlled by humans. This 3D environment represents another world that is untouchable, a clear difference is made between the real world as we know it and this strange unknown fantasy world where people can walk around in, have conversations, interact with each other and the objects which are in world. This virtual environment resembles planet earth in such a way it consists out of a land and water mass with the difference that those are computer generated and exist on simulators. Simulators also known as sims are 3D spaces residing on servers, they are limited in space and capacity. Because of their limited capacity as virtual spaces, simulators have to be connected together so they would be capable of handling large surfaces of virtual land, water, objects and people in order to form the virtual world. This structure where sims get connected to each other is a grid based structure or grid.
In the past people have known Virtual Worlds mostly from video games, in particular MMORPG's which stands for Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games. These type of worlds are exclusively used by the inhabitants for entertainment reasons and socialization but as technology evolves this is changing. Over the last few years people have been finding new uses for 3D environments, these online worlds aren't just used for their social aspects and entertainment value. New uses for virtual worlds are discovered such as education; business; collaboration on a professional level and so on, even the army uses virtual environments these days for training purposes. Simulators are getting used to do research, avatars which are a personal representation for the human who controls it become more important as they get more advanced. With the introduction of Avatar 2.0 in the near future we can expect that their use and importance will only increase. Avatar 2.0 will allow that avatars even become more personal than they already are today.
At the moment people customize their avatar in different ways which is trendy and fun, from turning their avatar or "avie" in a fantasy creature; animal or furie, or just trying to create a resemblance of their real life person. A lot of attention goes towards the look and image of the avatar which is no surprise since it's the medium used to move around in the 3D environment. This will only increase with the launch of Avatar 2.0 since a lot more will be possible with this new technology. Facegen a technology which allows the generation of a human head for the avatar, by using advanced algorithms it is possible to alter the age, race and gender for an avatar. This is important as virtual worlds are used by all kinds of age groups and usage isn't limited to a single age category.
While the customization of the avatar appearance is something which is regaled by many virtual world residents with enthusiasm, the actual building of three dimensional objects is one of the most essential parts of the virtual world since the world exists out of them. Without 3D objects or models the world would be empty. When exploring the virtual world with your avatar every model or object you see in the simulated environment has been placed there by another avatar. The objects can be manufactured with in world building tools by using primitives which are the basic building blocks inside a artificial world or more advanced 3D software tools can be used to model them. This is also one of the beauties of the metaverse, by allowing anyone to experiment with basic building blocks avatars are able to experience how versatile and flexible simulated environments can be. This is also one of the main reasons virtual worlds receive a huge interest for educational purposes. Besides offering a way to experiment with basic primitives many people wish to go to the next level and explore their architectural possibilities in the immersive digital enviroment. For those who wish to take building beyond the prim there are many options as there exist all kinds of tools and 3D modeling programs to create mesh models which are professional game industry standard builds. 3D models created out of meshes require a higher level of knowledge to produce but are well worth to invest time in to learn as they will reward you with a much higher quality and detail compared to objects made out of primitives. What is also important to note is that a higher financial value is connected to objects made out of meshes compared to those made out of prims which is logical as they are harder to produce.
Just like in real life there exists an economical model within the virtual world where goods and/or services are getting exchanged between avatars with the intention to make profit. This should not come as a surprise since avatars are human controlled forms of life who value certain things even when they are virtual, just like people place value on certain objects in real life. In order to allow the trading of virtual related goods and services, which can literary vary from ornaments to increase the looks and appearance for the avatar, to houses; clothing and even virtual real estate usage is made of a medium called virtual currency. At first this might seem awkward while it is an extremely logical path to follow as any economy demands for a currency. Since man kind does not longer live in the Stone Age where barbaric forms of trading took place virtual worlds make usage of money which functions as a tool for transmitting value between reality or the real world and Cyberspace.
